Evil Eye Creative Studio

October 15, 2022 – Carmi, IL – Corn Day is a very special time in Carmi! This long-established festival is a favorite for residents, and Evil Eye Creative Studio was proud to be a part of this year’s event. As usual, Corn Day was held the second weekend in October, and was organized by the Carmi Kiwanis club.
This year we had the honor of creating the Official 2022 Corn Day shirts. The theme was “May the Corn be with You,” which has a Star Wars flair. We were able to ask the community members for ideas for the shirts through an online contest through our website. The final design was combined between two winners, Ally Pollard and Isaac Northcott. We would like to thank the Carmi Kiwanis Club for giving us this opportunity and trusting us with this big project. It was a lot of fun!
“When I first started getting into communications and design, I remember thinking, ‘I hope I can someday design something for Corn Day,'” said Hailey Winkleman, Owner and Founder at Evil Eye Creative Studio. “It is so humbling to be asked to be a part of such a momentous event in our community.”
We also enjoyed partnering with WRUL and volunteering for Pets at Risk for some holiday themed photoshoots following the Corn Day Pet Parade. “Puppy Pic or Treat” was a Halloween themed photo shoot. Digital photo releases were available for purchase, and 100% of the profits went to Pets at Risk.
“The dog photo events are one of the best things we do,” said Hailey. “It’s such a great way to use our skills to benefit animals in need, something that I’m personally very passionate about.”
We would like to thank WRUL for asking us to participate in this project. In December, we will be holding our second “Santa Paws” event with a Christmas themed set where the pets and their families get to pose for pictures with Santa Claus.
The entire team at EECS is so grateful for a successful Corn Day in 2022, and we can’t wait to see what happens next year! Thank you again to Carmi Kiwanis Club and WRUL for working with us this year.
